It's Commuter Appreciation Week at St. John's University and we've been making Maui Wowi smoothies to show 'em the love. Along with today's pina colada and strawberry banana smoothies, today's commuters also got their nails (and eyebrows) done, and a little massage, too.

Health Fair at Five Towns College

Five Towns College, a liberal arts and performance college in Dix Hills, NY, held a health fair today featuring health club information, massage and Maui Wowi smoothies. The smoothies added an all-natural, non-fat healthy feature to the event.

Music, Craft & Espresso to Ease Midterms Anxiety

St. Joseph College was getting ready for midterms last night with some music from Todd Alsup (the guy can sing!), therapeutic make-your-own-fishtank activities from Fun Enterprises, and of espresso beverages from Maui Wowi.

Espressos at Amherst College

The chilly New England air got warmer, if only for a day, when Maui Wowi visited Amherst College to make Hawaiian coffees, espressos, cappuccinos, lattes and hot cocoas!

Casino (and Cappuccino) Night at Salve Regina

This weekend was Salve Regina University's annual Casino Night and Maui Wowi was on hand to make cappuccinos and hot cocoas for the card sharks, er, we mean, scholars! A good time was had by all at this gorgeous Newport, R.I., school (and no real money was exchanged, Moms and Dads).

Aztec Party (with Smoothies) at NJIT

The first thing you notice about NJIT, New Jersey's science and technology university, is that it's enormous! A much bigger, livelier campus that what we expected from a tech-oriented school. Yesterday was their annual Student Appreciation Day with dozens of activities all over campus, including an "Aztec Party" at the student union pub. Karaoke, a chocolate fountain (which some students managed to wear at the end of the night--see photo!), music and dancing and of course, Maui Wowi smoothies. These kids know how to work hard and play hard.

Caffeinating Senior Projects Day at DeVry

DeVry University, a leading technical college in NJ, held its annual Senior Projects Day yesterday in which graduating seniors present their best work. One senior I spoke to was showing a product that alerts a central office when the temperature of a room goes out of range--potentially averting disaster in toxic chemical situations. Cool! We got everyone's energy going with hot cocoas and lattes.

Commuter Day at Fashion Institute

We always enjoy visiting Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. The students are, as you would expect, fashionable! And friendly. And thirsty. The Commuter Day event, in which the school's campus activities department promoted cost-saving ways to get around New York, was a big success with a little help from Maui Wowi.

Maui Wowi at NJ Party Showcase

Maui Wowi's blenders were whirring overtime at the Celebrate Party Showcase in Teaneck, NJ last month where hundreds of bar/bat mitzvah-planning families came to size up potential vendors for their parties. Smoothies Chill Out Pomfret Soccer Night

We enjoyed our Maui Wowi debut at Pomfret School in Connecticut this weekend, where we were on hand to make smoothies for the school's soccer tournament. And the kids at this excellent college prep school were as enthusiastic about having us as we were to be there!

C.W. Post College "After Dark" Event

Long Island University's C.W. Post campus does an annual event called Pratt After Dark that goes until the wee hours. Our four smoothie slingers hung in there all night to make thousands of tasty beverages for the crowds. Blendermasters Eric and Nathan (on the trapeze) dazzled the thirsty throngs.

Luau at Gettysburg College

It was luau night at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA, and Maui Wowi was there to make smoothies and kick off the new semester. We're happy to welcome GC to our growing family of colleges we serve.

Smoothies at Clark University Bingo Night

It was Bingo night at Clark University in Worcester, Mass., and Maui Wowi was on hand to provide the smoothie refreshments. About 300 students attended the event and competed (do you compete in Bingo?) for IPods, Nintendos and other cool stuff!

Pumping it Out at Georgetown!

It was a late night event at Georgetown University this past Saturday. We like to take a few snapshots at each job we do, but sometimes we are so busy there's barely time to serve everyone! That was the case at this very successful event. Not the best picture, but a super event with over 500 hot cocoas and cappuccinos served!

Smoothies for Fall Finals Week at Manhattan College

We set up a smoothie station for four consecutive days at Manhattan College to help ease the tension from finals week. We'll have to wait for the transcripts to come in to see if it worked!

Every Child's Dream Charity Event

Every Child's Dream is a Long Island-based charity that assists families living in shelters. Every December the organization has a Christmas dinner serving over 600 people and giving gifts to the children. For the second year we served up smoothies to an appreciative crowd.

City College Finals Week Cappuccinos & Cocoas

City College of New York is one of the most beautiful campuses in the city and with one of the warmest student bodies. We've been bringing smoothies and coffees there for several years and each time we meet new faces and see old friends. Yesterday we were on hand to make cappuccinos and hot cocoas for finals week. We got to hear some amazing poetry jam performances from the students. Here's one of them.

Gloucester County College Stress Relief Day

Remember college finals? Who can forget the all-nighters! The folks at Gloucester County College had some delicious Maui Wowi hot cocoa and coffee today to mellow out from their studies.

It was definitely a hot chocolate kind of day at St . John's University. Brisk but beautiful for their annual Winter Carnival--complete with carollers an horse-and-carriage rides.

We were honored to take part in the Pediatric Cancer Foundation's annual Carnivale fundraiser in New York last night. We learned that the cure rates have risen to 75% from 10% only a few decades ago--and with events like this one pouring money into research, 100% cure rate is an achievable goal.
