Pumping it Out at Georgetown!

It was a late night event at Georgetown University this past Saturday. We like to take a few snapshots at each job we do, but sometimes we are so busy there's barely time to serve everyone! That was the case at this very successful event. Not the best picture, but a super event with over 500 hot cocoas and cappuccinos served!

Smoothies for Fall Finals Week at Manhattan College

We set up a smoothie station for four consecutive days at Manhattan College to help ease the tension from finals week. We'll have to wait for the transcripts to come in to see if it worked!

Every Child's Dream Charity Event

Every Child's Dream is a Long Island-based charity that assists families living in shelters. Every December the organization has a Christmas dinner serving over 600 people and giving gifts to the children. For the second year we served up smoothies to an appreciative crowd.

City College Finals Week Cappuccinos & Cocoas

City College of New York is one of the most beautiful campuses in the city and with one of the warmest student bodies. We've been bringing smoothies and coffees there for several years and each time we meet new faces and see old friends. Yesterday we were on hand to make cappuccinos and hot cocoas for finals week. We got to hear some amazing poetry jam performances from the students. Here's one of them.

Gloucester County College Stress Relief Day

Remember college finals? Who can forget the all-nighters! The folks at Gloucester County College had some delicious Maui Wowi hot cocoa and coffee today to mellow out from their studies.

It was definitely a hot chocolate kind of day at St . John's University. Brisk but beautiful for their annual Winter Carnival--complete with carollers an horse-and-carriage rides.

Maui Wowi at Pediatric Cancer Foundation Event

We were honored to take part in the Pediatric Cancer Foundation's annual Carnivale fundraiser in New York last night. We learned that the cure rates have risen to 75% from 10% only a few decades ago--and with events like this one pouring money into research, 100% cure rate is an achievable goal. So if you're reading this, how about visiting the site and making a donation?

Smoothies at Berkeley College

Berkeley College in Manhattan had their third alcohol awareness program and we were on hand to provide smoothies after the event. Michael McNeil, MS, Assistant Director of health services at Columbia University did a masterful job of combining information with entertainment. And in case you wondering why there's a picture of a sneaker here, one of Berkeley's students has a business called VSNEAKS. He hand-paints sneakers in a variety of designs. He created a pair just for this occasion. Beautiful work! So support an artist and buy someone a paid for the holidays!

The Party's at the Bentley Dealership

Sande Finkel knows how to throw a party. She created an amazing event last night at the Champion Motor Group's' Lamborghini/Bentley dealership in Jericho, NY. They've got a huge space where you can throw a rocking event. And rock it did with music from Sax & Sound, fire acts, dancers, terrific food from Mark of Excellence Catering in Port Washington, and even scented environments from A Gala Event. The space is perfect for an upscale bar/bat mitzvah, sweet 16, wedding or corporate function. Many guests who stopped by for a strawberry banana or pina colada Maui Wowi commented on the delicious smell of the fruit, and we had to confess it was mostly the ingenious scents from our friend at Gala, Hugh Wunderman.

Coffee House at UConn Stamford

We fired up the espresso, hot cocoa and cappuccino drinks for the UConn Stamford campus yesterday. Everyone knows what a caramel macchiato is from their training by our friends at Starbucks. But they all liked ours better! The students also raised money for cancer research. Nice going!

Alcohol Awareness at Berkeley College

Today we visited the midtown Manhattan branch of Berkeley College, after our trip to the Westchester campus last week and prior to our downtown visit next week. Each visit was part of the school's "Alcohol 101" seminar followed by our smoothies. Bravo to Berkeley for offering important information to its students presented in a fun way -- and a nice perk for coming!

Berkeley College has Smoothies at Alcohol Lecture

Berkeley College of Westchester had an alcohol awareness seminar today, and is doing the same at its branches in downtown and midtown Manhattan next week. Bravo! We were there as an incentive for students to come and listen to the important info.

We just got back from our first NACA conference in Lancaster PA and it was a big success for us. We met students from hundreds of colleges throughout the region, and I think it's fair to say we were one of the highlights of the exhibits. We kept the smoothies flowing and spread our Aloha spirit across the Mid-Atlantic. See you all next year!

Maui Wowi participated in a health fair at the US Naval Weapons Station in Earle, NJ today. Lots of working out, lots of refreshing, healthy smoothies as a reward!
