Maui Wowi Joins Hawaiian Wedding Party

Maui Wowi at Yeshiva Downtown and Uptown

It was a whirlwind day yesterday as Maui Wowi brought our smoothies to two locations of Yeshiva University's Stern College for Women in the morning and afternoon and in the evening battled crosstown traffic to set up for the men's Yeshiva College uptown It was well worth the trip--we served about 2,000 smoothies during the day to welcome students back to school.

What could be better than an 80-degree, low-humidity late August day on the plaza of Fashion Institute of Technology making smoothies? With this group of undergrads the big challenge was color-coordinating the drink umbrellas with their outfits! And getting them to come out of their introverted shells--NOT! Lotsa fun, great group of kids. They did a Caribbean theme welcome event, complete with steel drum band AND free flip-flops with the FIT logo. Cool!

Hawaiian Day at Manhattan College

This is the whirlwind week (actually two) of college back-t0-school events for Maui Wowi. Here we are at Manhattan College in Riverdale. Amazing how here and at Fordham you can be in the Bronx but hardly know it! That's fellow franchisee Paul Branca behind the tiki bar counter. We've been doing our Aloha thing all over New York. If you see two bearded guys in Hawaiian shirts on college campuses (who look well over 30) that's probably us.

Maui Wowi at Forest Laboratories Event

Pharma company Forest Laboratories had their yearly company "Day in the Sun" and invited Maui Wowi to make smoothies for about 1000 employees. It was a blistering hot day, which didn't stop employees from some hard core sports--volleyball, tennis, basketball--and lots to drink!

Smoothies in Central Park

Investment bank Brown Brothers Harriman had its annual summer event at the Wollman Skating Rink in Central Park on a hot August night (last year's event was preceded by torrential rain and we definitely prefer the heat). About 1,500 attended and enjoyed great Maui Wowi smoothies, awesome food from Relish Caterers and fun activities including hula hoop and pie-eating contests. Nice to see those bankers get dirty!
